Day 3 into my new fangled toy has been pretty good. Overall Mac does some things better than Windows, but in others, Windows is the victorious OS. I cannot use any Adobe apps on Mac, no matter how hard I try.

On an unrelated note, I’ve noticed I’ve been making quite a few horrendous mistakes when desiging in Photoshop, and the color management is different in Windows and Mac. Becasue of this I’ve decided to just redesign my site again, to both save time, and to challenge me with my Mac keyboard.

So lets start my inaugural post on my Mac machine with a few quality links

One of my favourite designers, Chris Coyier, is going to be writing a book about my favourite CMS platform, WordPress. Cant wait to check it out.

Time for this badboy to make a comeback. Its fitting because of the new design launch, which takes the good stuff from the last design and adds more functionality and consistency.I really like it anyway, and my jQuery knowledge is tested . Anyways I’ve decided to get my Links straight from my Google Reader Shared List, so if you want to see what links will I’ve featured in this post every week, I suggest you look there first

Free textures – This is an excellent set of cracks and grungy textures by chorando. Excellent for distinctive backgrounds
Are you tired of Captcha? – Swedish Fika gives a great tutorial as to how to combat spam instead of turning to those ever annoying Captcha images. And its fairly simple to integrate into WordPress
Speaking of which, WordPress 2.8 Beta 2 is out! One of the best features in this build is the ability to download themes straight into the server. Also now when you press Ctrl(Cmd) + S, it saves a draft of the post.
Tutorial 9 has a great article, outlining the steps in the creation of a very Stylish Mail Icon, you could use for just about anything
I find it extremely hard to find people on Twitter, now that @replies is gone. NaldzGraphics has an excellent list of 300+ web designers on Twitter.
This week, Engadget gave me two very exciting news articles. First of all, SkyTV is coming to the Xbox 360. And Windows 7 (which I’m using right now), might be able to connect to multiple WiFi networks at once to get a faster speed. Schweet.
Alan Foran, has a great review of Green Day’s – 21st Century Breakdown. I have one on the way, but not sure if its post-worthy yet.

Its that time again where I show you some of the more interesting finds online;

Everyone in the Leitrim drug ring have been caught. I mean everyone.

The new Yahoo homepage looks nice, but is it enough? I don’t think so.

Tommy Collison is struggling in choosing both a new theme and an iPhone Twitter client.

The townie has found solace in an Apple Store in NYC.

Also I would like to mention @jimmyfallon for a wonderful 8 days of TV so far. Props for featuring Kevin and Alex and good luck to @bryanbrinkman in becoming the first Twitter rock star.

Damien Mulley is organising free schwag. I’m interested.

Also no link here, but the new Shuffle is just horrid.

Its the end of the first month of 2009, and what a month its been. Technology galore yet we cant afford any, economic difficulties worldwide are still rampant, New leader of this country that disappeared 8 years ago, and of course the weather. So while you’re all sipping on your Hot Chocolate, have a look at some of my favourite sites/posts/articles that i found interesting.

First, we have the amazing Gigapan Image of Barack Obama’s inauguration. Now unfortunately the site is down but seeing this is something quite special I will embed here for all to see and admire

I love especially the way you can see Obama looking presidential, Dick Cheney looking as grim as ever, and of course the onlookers, which had to make their way through the mall in temperature of -18° F. “Change has come to America”

I’ve fallen in love with Nokia again, and I’m getting the N95 soon, but new players on the field of smartphones are emerging. Several sources state that Dell is looking into entering the market while Asus (EEE-PC Maker) say they are going to create an EEE-Phone. However I cant seem to believe that they can cut down costs for a smartphone, and revolutionise low cost smart phones the way that they have done with the netbook.

These are fun ways to quench your boredom, and they look pretty cool too. I especially like the Obama one.

As I am one of those Xbox fanboys, I always smile whenever I hear bad things going over at Sony’s PlayStation Division. Sony’s 4th Quarter Profits are down 95 Percent. Things are not looking good for Sony, and I think a price drop in some devices are coming sooner rather than later. But rumours of a PSP2 are emerging, so you never know.

And now for some good-old fashioned fun
