Excuse my absence

Studying is a bitch

Hey guys. As you might have realised. I’m behind on my Design a WordPress 2.7 Theme, and for good reason. I am in the middle of assignment season and I’m getting close to the exam time of the semester. Right now my eyes are glued to PowerPoint Presentations and Word Documents, trying to study the Boot Process of all major Operating Systems.

Another reason for my tardiness, is due to the fact that I want to create the best tutorial, and I need to figure out what sort of design to use for the template.

So while you’re waiting why not have a look back at some of my previous posts. And subscribe to my RSS Feed while you’re at it too

New Blog Theme – Its Ninja-tastic

16 Mar

Yes this is my bluesy design for Miralize.com and I quite like it. Yes there are some kinks to be worked out, but this is my new design. I need to add a few things (like styling to the comments), but they shouldn’t take that long, and I wanted to get this design out as fast as possible.

I really like the ninja illustration I did for this site.I think it adds something different to the site. The whole site is designed to be fast-loading, with only two images, and a heck of a lot of CSS, I got it to look like this. Pretty impressive, huh? :P Haha I’m proud, but im not that arrogant.

Hope you enjoy it,

Sean

Windows Live Writer – Blog Post Publisher

Windows Live Writer

Windows Live Writer

Something drastic is happening at Redmond. Microsoft are getting things right. With the recent success of the Windows 7 Beta (which I am using right now) and the 20GB storage space that has no strings attached, Microsoft are on a roll. Ever since the internet first came about, Microsoft have struggled to wow the online world. Sure they have held the top spot in the Browser market, but that was due to it being included into every Windows machine, and Windows being the OS of choice this was bound to happen.

In the past 2 years or so, Microsoft have placed a huge amount of resources towards creating feature-loaded software to intertwine the offline world and their respective online spaces. Through its rebranding of free software to “Windows Live Essentials”, they have included an amazing application. “Windows Live Writer” allows avid blog posters to write offline, and post online. I tried this out a few months ago, but as I was not that much of a blogger I hardly took any notice of it.

But now I cant stop using it. Here I am on the train writing this post, no internet, yet creating this post with ease. It has all the features the backend of WordPress’ WYSIWYG Editor, along with the added bonus of it being all available offline. You are able to upload images, video, even maps. It even has a small image adjuster, allowing you to add watermarks, crop items, change colours and linking.

One thing it does not support however is the image captioning which can be fixed if you go into source mod. You also can’t add new blogs offline, which is understandable I guess but it does look like this is for the other blog I post in. This software doesn’t just work for WordPress. It also supports Windows Live and Sharepoint (naturally), Blogger, Typepad, LiveJournal, Movable Type, Community Server, dasBlog, Radio Userland, and Metaweblog.

Overall “Windows Live Writer” is a must have for all Windows users, who also happen to be bloggers. There are some kinks to be worked out but there is time.

New Design

9 Feb

Yeah so in case you haven’t noticed, this blog has been given a redesign. I am quite pleased with how it has turned out so far, but this is just the bare bones of the design.

In other news, I got myself a stunningly powerful n95. What’s great about this is that it is qik-able, so prepare to see a lot of videos on this site

Twitter Followers

Sometimes I am just taken aback by the amount of people who follow me on Twitter. It’s not olny a major flattery, but it also shows that you can be a nobody and still have a reasonable following (actually scratch that, I just remembered Tila Tequila exists). So seeing as I want to show my appreciation to my followers, here you are, in all your minature glory.
