Wow the N97 looks good, even in pink. These shots we nabbed by Engadget a few hours ago and I cant stop staring at its beauty. Bernie has said positive things about this phone, which should be arriving in Summer 2009.

Specs include:

  • Keyboard
  • HSDPA, WiFi, and Bluetooth radios
  • A-GPS
  • A 3.5mm headjack
  • 32GB (pwoarh!) of memory with microSD slot (48 GB total)
  • 1.5 days of battery with continuous audio playback
  • 5MP Carl Zeiss Camera

Oh and did I mention that it had a 3.5” touchscreen?Indeed Nokia have been working very hard at this. It’s like they took a page out of James May’s book and kept repeating “Poweeeeer!”

My contract with o2 is not up until the summer of 2010 which gives Nokia enough time to lower the price and to give me time to save.

  1. I really like the thought of watching Gravity scroll a kinetic flow from Twitter on the N97. And more than that, I like the thought of having a phone that lets you do serious handheld videos, both recording them and storing them for later playback. It’s like YouTube on demand in your pocket. Or getting on an Atlantic crossing with several movies to spare.

I hope it’s not running Symbian as its OS though. Although given Nokia own 56% of Symbian I guess it’s very likely that it will be.

Symbian is starting to show its age these days. I was debating whether to buy an iPhone or an N95 but having had nothing but problems with my old N73 ultimately I went for the iPhone.

With the exception of a couple of Blackberry’s that I had at work I’ve only ever had Nokia phones until I got the iPhone of course.

  3. Never have I wanted a phone more in my life!!
